November 21, 2016
Ralph Goodale, The Honourable Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, along with Members of Parliament Jane Philpott and John McCallum, will host a National Security Town Hall Meeting
I am inviting residents of Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill to participate in a town hall meeting as part of the Government of Canada’s consultation on national security.
The Government wants to hear your opinions and ideas on Canada’s national security laws and policies to keep you safe and to safeguard our values, rights and freedoms.
A number of topics will be covered during the meeting. There will be brief introductory remarks from the hosts, and a facilitator will outline the format of the discussion. For the remainder of the meeting, participants will have the opportunity to take to the microphone and have their voices heard on how we can improve Canada’s national security framework. To guide the discussion, we encourage participants to read a consultation paper and supporting materials, which are available online.
If you’re not able to attend, you can also contribute to the general discussion online at
